Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 17, 2026
Aviso de privacidad en español (México)
This policy covers the Doodue app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, this website (doodue.com), the waitlist and email support (“Doodue”, “we”, “us”). Questions: soporte@doodue.com.
1. Information we collect
2.1 Information that reaches us
- Waitlist: your name and email address, when you signed up and whether you confirmed. Our email provider (Kit) may also record whether you open our emails and click their links.
- Support: if you email us, your email address, your name (if you include it), your message and any attachments.
- Information from Apple: Apple gives us download, sales and subscription reports that don’t identify you. If you chose to share analytics with app developers on your device, Apple may also give us crash reports that don’t identify you.
We never receive your payment details: Apple processes all purchases and subscriptions.
2.2 Information the app uses only on your device (it never reaches us)
To work, Doodue uses the following on your device. We don’t receive it, we don’t store it on our own servers, and we can’t see it:
- What you create: projects, tasks, habits, routines, events and notebooks (ink, text, images, photos you pick for covers, and PDFs you import).
- Handwriting: to search your notebooks and for the task pen and math pen, the app reads your handwriting with Apple’s on-device text recognition, without the internet.
- Your name and birthday (if you enter them when you start): to greet you. Stored on your device.
- Apple Calendar (only with your permission): the events in your device’s and iCloud calendars, to show them in Doodue’s calendar and to create, edit or delete events when you ask.
- Google Classroom (only if you connect it): your classes and their assignments (for example, title, instructions and due date), to import them into Doodue as tasks. The access token is stored in the Apple Keychain on your device.
- Google and Microsoft email and calendars: the first version of Doodue doesn’t use them. If a future version lets you connect them and you do, the app will use, only on your device:
- Gmail: account name and address, message list, sender, recipients, subject, preview, content and labels; to show your inbox, open, mark as read, star, archive, trash, reply to and send the emails you write, and to create a task from an email when you ask.
- Google Calendar: your calendars and their events (title, date, time), to show them next to your tasks and to create, edit or delete events when you ask.
- Outlook / Microsoft 365: the same as Gmail and Google Calendar, through Microsoft Graph.
- Location (only with your permission): your location to show the weather, looked up with Apple’s weather service.
- Reminders, alarms and widgets: scheduled and stored on your own device.
- Siri and Shortcuts: if you use them, Apple processes your requests under its privacy policy.
- Your plan: the app checks with Apple, on your device, whether Doodue Standard is active.
iCloud sync: if iCloud is on, Doodue saves a copy of what you create in the app (projects, tasks, habits, routines and notebooks) in your own iCloud account so it appears on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Apple stores that copy under its privacy policy; we have no access to it.
We don’t ask for sensitive personal information. Whatever you choose to write in your notebooks or tasks stays on your devices and in your iCloud.
2. How we use information
- To make the app work on your device and do what you ask.
- To email waitlist members when Doodue is available and about important news about the app.
- To answer support requests and privacy requests.
- To comply with the law and protect our rights and the safety of our users.
We don’t sell or rent your information, we don’t build profiles, and we don’t use it to train artificial intelligence models. The free plan shows Google AdMob ads as described in section 4.
3. How we share information
- Service providers that process information to provide their services to us, under their terms and privacy policies: Kit (waitlist and its emails), Cloudflare (website hosting and forwarding of email sent to soporte@doodue.com; it may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site) and Google (Gmail, the mailbox where we receive and answer support email). They are located in the United States.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, court order or a valid request from authorities, or to protect rights, property or safety.
- Business transfer: if Doodue is sold or merged, this information may transfer to the new owner, who will remain bound by this policy.
When you connect an account, your information moves directly between your device and that provider (Google, Microsoft or Apple) under its own privacy policy. Apple distributes the app, handles subscriptions and stores your iCloud copy as an independent company.
4. Ads and tracking
The free plan shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google collects information directly from your device under its own privacy policy, such as device identifiers, your IP address and how you interact with ads; this can include information about your activity over time and across other apps and websites. On iPhone, iPad and Mac the system asks before the app may track you, and you can say no (Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking). Doodue never gives Google or any advertiser your email, calendars, tasks, notes or any data from accounts you connect. Doodue Standard shows no ads.
We don’t sell your personal information for money. Some US state laws may treat ad identifiers collected by ad networks for targeted advertising as a “sale” or “sharing”; you can opt out at any time by denying tracking as described above.
The app doesn’t respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals; to limit ad tracking, deny tracking in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. We only use providers and SDKs whose terms require protection of your data at least equal to this policy.
5. Google and Microsoft data (Limited Use)
Doodue’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Classroom data:
- is used only to provide the email, calendar and class features you see in Doodue;
- is not transferred to others, except when you ask (for example, when you send an email), for security, or to comply with the law;
- is not used for advertising or to build profiles;
- is not used to train artificial intelligence models;
- never reaches us, so no one but you can read it; if you forward an email to support, we read it only to help you.
Emails, events and classes are stored on your device to show them to you; tasks you create from them are stored like any other task (on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your iCloud). When you disconnect an account, Doodue stops accessing it and revokes its permission.
We apply the same rules to data from your Microsoft account.
6. How long we keep information
- Waitlist: until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete it, or we close the list.
- Support: as long as needed to handle your request and follow up, and as required by law. You can ask us to delete it.
- On your devices or iCloud: you control it; it’s deleted when you delete it.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards: account access is stored in the Apple Keychain, connections are encrypted, and only we can access the waitlist and support email accounts. No system is 100% secure; if a breach significantly affects you, we’ll let you know as required by law.
8. Your choices and rights
- Waitlist: unsubscribe with the link in any email.
- Connected accounts: in Doodue, Settings › Connected accounts › Disconnect, or remove access from your Google (myaccount.google.com/permissions) or Microsoft (account.live.com/consent/Manage; work or school accounts: myaccount.microsoft.com) account.
- Device permissions (calendar, location, notifications): in Settings › Doodue.
- iCloud: turn off iCloud for Doodue or delete its data in Settings › your name › iCloud.
- Delete everything on a device: deleting the app removes its local data, but access tokens in the Keychain may remain, so disconnect your accounts first. Your iCloud copy isn’t deleted with the app; delete it from iCloud.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it. Email soporte@doodue.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We’ll verify your request (for the waitlist, writing from the same email address is enough) and respond within 30 days. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. We will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
9. Website, cookies and waitlist
This website uses no cookies of its own and no analytics or advertising cookies. It only remembers your chosen language in your browser. Our host may use technical security cookies to protect the site. Because the website doesn’t track you, it doesn’t change its behavior in response to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals; there is nothing to turn off. Our host (Cloudflare) may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
If you join the waitlist, we store your name and email with Kit only to email you about Doodue: launch day and important news about the app. We ask you to confirm your email first, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
10. Children
Doodue is intended for students 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 gave us personal information, email soporte@doodue.com and we will delete it. Teens under 18 should use Doodue and join the waitlist only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
11. California and other US states
In the last 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name and email address, from the waitlist and support) and the content of messages you send us. We use them only for the purposes in section 2 and disclose them only to the service providers in section 3. We don’t sell personal information for money, and we don’t receive sensitive personal information. In the free plan, Google AdMob collects identifiers (such as advertising ID and IP address) and internet activity (how you interact with ads), as described in section 4.
California residents can request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes (California Civil Code § 1798.83). We don’t make such disclosures.
12. International users
Doodue is run from Mexico, and our service providers are in the United States. By using Doodue or joining the waitlist, your information may be processed in those countries. Users in Mexico can read our aviso de privacidad in Spanish, which describes your ARCO rights under Mexican law.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. If the change is significant, we’ll also tell you in the app when you update it and, if you’re on the waitlist, by email.
